Grab for iPhone
Download videos straight to your Photos or Files using an iOS Shortcut. No app install needed.

Create the Shortcut

1Open the Shortcuts app
It's pre-installed on every iPhone. Search for "Shortcuts" if you can't find it.

2Tap the + button
Top right corner. Name your shortcut
Grab Video. -
3Add action: "Get URLs from Input"
Tap "Add Action", search for
URLs, select "Get URLs from Input". This captures the link when you share from another app. -
4Add action: "Get Contents of URL"
Search for
Get Contents of URLand add it. Then configure it:URL https://grab.breakglass.tech/api/downloadMethod POSTRequest Body JSONKey urlValue URLsTap "Show More" to reveal Method/Body options. For the value, tap the field and select the
URLsvariable from step 3. -
5Add action: "Choose from Menu"
Search
Choose from Menu. Set the prompt toSave to...and add two options:PhotosandFiles. -
6Under "Photos": Add "Save to Photo Album"
Tap inside the Photos menu section. Add the action
Save to Photo Album. It will automatically use the downloaded video. -
7Under "Files": Add "Save File"
Tap inside the Files menu section. Add the action
Save File. You can optionally set a default folder.
Enable the Share Sheet

1Tap the info button (i) at the bottom
Or tap the shortcut name at the top to open settings.

2Turn on "Show in Share Sheet"
This makes the shortcut appear when you tap the share button in any app.

3Set "Share Sheet Types" to URLs
Tap "Share Sheet Types" and select
URLsandSafari web pages.
Use It

1Find a video on X, Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook

2Tap the Share button
The standard iOS share button (box with arrow).

3Scroll down and tap "Grab Video"
It'll be in the actions list. You may need to scroll to find it the first time.

4Choose "Photos" or "Files"
Photos saves it to your camera roll. Files lets you pick a folder.
Add Grab to Your Home Screen
Want Grab as a full-screen app? Add it to your home screen:
- Open grab.breakglass.tech in Safari
- Tap the Share button (box with arrow)
- Tap "Add to Home Screen"
- Grab appears as a standalone app β no Safari UI
